Club members must be between 15 and 19 years old and enrolled in high school.
Our season typically runs in 9-month cycles and runs in tandem with the USA Climbing season.
Athletic experience is recommended and tryouts are required.
Most activities occur on the North side of Chicago, so proximity is a consideration.
Members must be enrolled in school and able to demonstrate at least a 2.0 GPA to participate.
Members must demonstrate exemplary behavior at home, in school and within the community to participate.
Members and parents must sign a Code of Conduct along with any waivers of agreements from climbing gyms and facilities.
The club often partners with local climbing gyms and organizations and members are expected to follow the rules, policies and procedures of those partner organizations.
Membership Benefits
We take only as many members as we can support in order to provide the following benefits:
Two (2) training sessions a week led by trained instructors.
Membership to a local indoor climbing gym.
Basic climbing equipment including a harness, shoes and chalk bag.
Financial support for transportation to and from the climbing gym.
Coordination and transportation to and from local USA Climbing events as appropriate.
Membership Costs
There is no membership fee ($0). The club covers all associated costs and fees so that the members can simply show up and climb.
General Expectations
Members should climb one extra day a week in addition to their practice days.
Once on a team, members should have their own shoes, harness, and chalk bag.
Parent involvement is paramount to an athletes’ success; however coaching climbing is the team coach’s responsibility.
